In 1994, nationally recognized grief therapist and Florida licensed psychologist, Dr. Teddy Tarr Luban, Psy.D., opened Crossroads Counseling Center at 9715 South Dixie Highway in Pinecrest. The Crossroads/Conference Center is now open at the same location. Crossroads is an international cross-cultural center for continuing education, community outreach, networking and counseling. It will serve to educate psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists and will specialize in death, dying, bereavement and divorce. Additionally, the Center will host public seminars addressing parenting issues, clinical depression in teens, marital problems and other specialty workshops customized to meet the needs of the community.
"The Center is designed to promote experiential programs that are empirical and clinically relevant," said Dr. Tarr Luban who is on the staff of Miami Children's, Baptist and South Miami Hospitals. "We welcome other facilitators who are competent instructors, experts in their own fields and are highly motivated to effectuate workshops."
Crossroads provides a comfortable setting with a warm atmosphere for 25 to 30 participants. Attached please find a schedule of the initial programs offered.
